For this weeks reading, I learnt about how to write a good game document and what is needed in it.
There are several steps and key elements to include into the game document. The catogories being
- Project Description
- Characters
- Story
- Theme
- Story Progression
- Gameplay
- Goals
- Users Skills
- Game Mechanics
While there are many more factors to make a game document these to me are the most important and the ones where you want to go right into it and not go around. While looking at the reading I slim down the topics to around three things i would talk about in my game document. The first being Game mechanics which will be a simple one jumping game trying to avoid the cats which is what i am using as the villain in my game. The second being Characters as i want the player to get attched to the main character and go along the story with them. The last being User skills to test it out on a people who dont play games and do play games and see where I could have a middle ground.
